And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. Acts 11:28 (kjv)
It may be just me, but I find it interesting that God showed by the Spirit that there were going to be famines, yet never gave a solution for famines. God warned of its coming, but He left the church in the first century to prepare without instructions. Continuously God allows weather forecasters to warn of hurricanes, storms, tornadoes with just a warning of be prepared, stay safe. Being a Christian doesn’t protect Christians from the storms, famines of this life. However, being a disciple of Jesus offers Christians to be helpers of those going through those difficulties. God isn’t going to stop the world’s famines or storms, yet He sends His Christians to show the love of Jesus, to offer relief from the suffering in whatever way that we are able to. -BP
